Particle effects and 3D motion graphics in After Effects usually mean choosing between native tools that feel limited or a plugin that’s overkill for what you actually need. Why I Recommend
The Geo updates matter most for anyone doing text or logo-based motion graphics work. Being able to combine up to 4 base objects with multiple materials, plus the new formation-specific transforms, covers a lot of common motion design patterns, honeycomb backgrounds, particle-based logo reveals, without needing to hand-build the geometry from scratch.
Dynamic Fluids is the feature that genuinely expands what’s possible within Particular. Realistic fluid interaction between particle forms used to require stepping outside After Effects entirely into a dedicated simulation package. Having that available directly inside the Trapcode workflow keeps a project in one application rather than bouncing between tools.
