Why I Recommend
The always-current model is the strongest argument for Ultimate over trying to piece together a plugin collection through individual purchases. Plugin compatibility breaks quietly, a DAW update ships and an old plugin stops loading correctly, and chasing down which of a dozen individually-owned plugins needs a manual update is its own kind of maintenance burden. Subscribing removes that entirely.
Where it’s a genuinely worse deal is for someone who only uses 3 or 4 specific plugins.
